Surfing: Lifeboat Station, Borth Wind Direction: SW Wind Stength: 30 knots Surf / Sea State: 3-4 foot rough surf Air Temperature: 8ºC Sea Temperature: 13ºC Weather: Rain and hail Max Speed: Distance Covered:
Sat in the van and contemplated going windsurfing, but the lightning put me
off, Harvey then got washed up on the beach and persuaded me to go out
surfing. We launched from the rocks and paddled out. Leigh, Amos and a few
others joined us. had a couple of Ok waves, but it was pretty messy out
there. then an ALMIGHTY hail storm came trhough, after a few minutes of
literally not being able to open your eyes to look out to sea, not being
able to see a thing and loads of pain as hailstone the size of marbles hit
us driven along by a 40 knot squall, we all headed in an sheltered behind
the Lifeboat Station.... My ears are still stinging now, and I've even got
a few cuts on my fingers from the hail stones... Pretty extreme and kind of
exciting though... Mother Nature won the day!
